Zeffy alternative

BackPR vs Zeffy

Zeffy is a free fundraising platform for nonprofits, covering donations, event ticketing, memberships and online stores, and it's funded by optional contributions that payers can add at checkout. BackPR is also free for nonprofits and is built for youth program registration, with payment plans, waitlists and e-signed waivers, which Zeffy's help center says it doesn't have built in.

The difference

Where BackPR is different

Payment plans with autopay

Families can pay over time on autopay. Zeffy has no built-in installment plans; its help center suggests a separate ticket for each installment.

Built-in waitlists

When a session fills, families can join its waitlist. Zeffy's help center says it has no built-in waitlist and suggests a free waitlist ticket instead.

E-signed waivers

Parents sign waivers and forms online. Zeffy has no waiver feature; its help center suggests a required checkbox or an emailed attachment.

Built for youth programs

Family accounts with several children and one checkout, rosters, and child check-in and check-out with authorized pickup.

In fairness

What Zeffy does well

Zeffy charges nonprofits nothing, not even card processing, and covers donations, event ticketing with QR check-in, memberships with automatic renewal, raffles, auctions and online stores, with Spanish forms for US nonprofits.

Can BackPR import our data from Zeffy?

Yes, for free. Send us your contacts and past registrations in a spreadsheet, and we'll set up your families and programs in BackPR.

Is BackPR free like Zeffy?

Both are free for nonprofits, with one difference: Zeffy also covers card processing. BackPR has no subscription and no BackPR fees, and payments run through Stripe at Stripe's standard rates, which you can absorb or pass on to families. BackPR never adds its own fee to what families pay.
