What you can do

Payments & billing in BackPR

Deposits and payment plans

Let families pay a deposit now and the balance in installments. You set the schedule and BackPR charges the saved card or bank account on each date.

Recurring tuition

Bill weekly, monthly or by term for after-school and childcare, with proration for families who join partway through.

Failed payment recovery

When a card is declined, BackPR retries it and sends the family a link to update their payment method. Outstanding balances sit in one list.

Scholarships and financial aid

Apply full or partial scholarships, sliding-scale pricing and private aid codes for the families who need them.

Every way families pay

Credit and debit cards, ACH bank payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay online, plus cash and checks recorded by your staff.

Refunds, credits and transfers

Invoices and statements

Invoice one-off charges, keep a running balance for each family and give parents year-end statements for dependent care claims.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Who processes payments?

Stripe. Card and bank payments are processed by Stripe and paid out to your organization's bank account.

What does payment processing cost?

Stripe's standard rates apply to each payment. For nonprofits, BackPR adds nothing on top. You decide whether to absorb the processing fee or pass it on to families as a convenience fee.

Does BackPR charge families a booking fee?

No. BackPR never adds its own fee to what families pay.

Can families pay in installments?

Yes. Set deposits and installment schedules per program, and the family's saved card or bank account is charged automatically on each date.

What happens when a payment fails?

BackPR retries the payment and sends the family a link to update their card. You can see every outstanding balance in one place.
