Registration data converter: turn a spreadsheet into a standard file
Moving to new software, sharing records with a partner or keeping your own backup? Put your families in the free spreadsheet template and convert it to a standard file. It runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Convert a spreadsheet
Fill in the participants template (one row per child, save as CSV), then choose it here.
Check a file
Check that an Open Youth Registration file has the required parts.
This file holds sensitive information about children. Keep it somewhere safe and share it only with people who need it.
The converter runs in your browser. Your spreadsheet isn't uploaded anywhere.
Good to know
How it works
The converter reads the participants template: one row per child, with a family ID that links siblings. It groups rows into families, turns allergies, medications and contacts into structured fields, and flags missing names and dates it can't read.
The file it makes follows the Open Youth Registration format, so tools that support the format can read it.
Check a file looks for the required parts. For a full check, run the file against the published JSON schemas with any JSON Schema validator.

Which columns does it read?
The columns in the participants template. Put several allergies or medications in one cell, separated by semicolons. Columns it doesn't know are ignored.
