A council between the state PTA and local units
A PTA council sits between a state PTA and local PTA units. It supports the PTAs in a district or region with training, networking and shared resources.
Local units run enrichment, family events, teacher appreciation, community programs and more. Independent PTOs and parent groups at nearby schools often ask the same questions; they qualify on their own if they're registered nonprofits.
Council volunteers often answer the same software questions from local boards. A free option for the units that qualify is easy to share. Units that do not qualify can request a quote.

For registered nonprofit PTAs and PTOs, BackPR is free. There is no subscription and no BackPR fee. The only processing cost is Stripe's standard rate, which the local unit can absorb or pass on.

There is no fee to the council to share BackPR, and no BackPR fees for a registered nonprofit PTA or PTO that chooses it. Standard Stripe processing fees apply.
You do not need to run registration for local units. Point them to the free option page and let each board decide.
When a local unit is ready, BackPR sets up the account and imports the data. The unit reviews the programs, families and forms before families see them.

PTA councils questions
Are all PTAs and PTOs free?
No. BackPR is free for registered nonprofits. A PTO that is not a registered nonprofit can request a quote.
Our PTO is not a registered nonprofit. What now?
It can request a quote. BackPR confirms status at sign-up. If you're not sure, email us before you open registration.
Can local units share one account?
Tell us how your units are organized. We'll confirm the account structure at sign-up.
Does the council have to manage registration?
No. Each local unit can run its own account. The council can share the option and point volunteers to support.
Do you offer a council discount?
BackPR is already free for registered nonprofits, so there is no member discount to add. For units that are not nonprofits, pricing is quote-based.
Can families use BackPR in Spanish?
Yes. Registration and parent screens are available in Spanish. Email support can also answer in Spanish.
Do you offer training for volunteers?
We can give council volunteers a short demo. BackPR support is by email, and setup and data import are free.
Can we use BackPR for enrichment and events?
Yes. BackPR handles registration and card payments for youth and community programs, including PTA enrichment and events.
