Camp associations

A free option for the camps in your association

Camp associations support day camps, overnight camps and specialty camps with training, accreditation help and member resources. BackPR gives the registered nonprofits among them a free way to take registration and card payments.

Who you are

An association of camps, not one camp

Many camp associations offer training, accreditation help, member resources and a voice on the issues camps share. Some associations are statewide. Others are regional, national or faith-based.

The members range from volunteer-run day camps to large overnight camps with year-round staff. Some are registered nonprofits. Others are for-profit businesses or public agencies.

Association staff often hear the same questions: what software should we use, what does it cost and who will move our data. A free option for the nonprofit camps is one answer you can share.

  • Camps that sell by week, session or program.
  • Families who pay deposits or balances by card.
  • Health, allergy and authorized pickup forms before the season.
  • Seasonal staff who need to learn the system quickly.
  • Directors who want to leave a system without a long contract.
  • Families who prefer to register in Spanish.

Not every camp will qualify for the free option. BackPR confirms nonprofit status at sign-up. For-profit camps can request a quote.

What member camps need

A registration season that does not run on spreadsheets

Registration that matches the camp calendar

A camp may sell by the week, by the session or by the day. Staff need to set up the schedule the camp actually runs.

Forms before families arrive

Camps collect medical, allergy and pickup information before the first day. Missing forms create work during the busiest week.

A clear payment story

Deposits and balances are part of camp registration. Families should see the processing cost before they pay, and the camp should know who covers it.

A handoff that survives staff turnover

Seasonal staff change every year. A new director should be able to find the roster, the forms and the payments without a call to last year's team.

How BackPR fits

Registration and payments in one place

BackPR handles online registration, payments, forms, check-in and parent messaging for youth and community programs. Families register; camp staff see the roster and the payments.

For registered nonprofit camps, BackPR is free. There is no subscription and no BackPR fee. The only processing cost is Stripe's standard rate, which the camp can absorb or pass on.

Free for nonprofit camps

No subscription and no BackPR fees. The free option is how BackPR works for registered nonprofits, not a trial.

A quote for for-profit camps

A for-profit camp does not get the nonprofit option. It can request a quote.

Free setup and import

BackPR sets up the account and brings over families and programs from a current system or spreadsheets. The camp reviews everything before families see it.

Resources for the off-season

Free printable templates include medical and allergy forms, authorized pickup, packing list and staff interview questions. The state rules library covers licensing, ratios, background checks and reporting. It is general information, not legal advice.

BackPR is available in the United States only.

What your association gets

A free option to share with member camps

There is no fee to the association to share BackPR, and no BackPR fees for a registered nonprofit camp that chooses it. Standard Stripe processing fees apply.

You do not need to run registration for member camps. Point them to the free option page and let each camp decide.

When a camp is ready, BackPR sets up the account and imports the data. The camp reviews the programs, families and forms before families see them.

  • A free option to share with the programs you support.
  • No fee to your organization to share it.
  • No BackPR fees for a registered nonprofit that chooses it. Standard Stripe processing fees apply.
  • A short demo for your staff or volunteers, focused on the screens programs would use.
  • Free setup and data import for each program that signs up.
  • Free templates programs can use, whether or not they use BackPR.
  • A state rules library programs can read and share.
  • A clear answer on eligibility at sign-up.

BackPR has no partnership with any camp association. This page describes an offer to share, not an existing partnership. A conference booth, sponsorship or paid membership is not part of this offer.

FAQ

Camp associations questions

Our association has for-profit camps. Can they use BackPR?

Yes, but not for free. BackPR is free for registered nonprofits. A for-profit camp can request a quote.

Is there a member discount?

BackPR is already free for registered nonprofits, so there is no member discount to add. For-profit camps can request a quote.

Can a camp switch between seasons?

Yes. There is no long-term contract and no exit fee. BackPR sets up the account and imports data at no cost, and the camp can review everything before families see it.

Who moves the camp's data?

BackPR does. Send an export from the current system or your spreadsheets, and BackPR imports the families, campers and programs. The camp reviews the result before it goes live.

Do you offer a session at our conference?

No. This page does not include a conference booth, session or sponsorship. We can give your staff a short online demo.

Can families use BackPR in Spanish?

Yes. Registration and parent screens are available in Spanish. Email support can also answer in Spanish.

What does a nonprofit camp pay?

No subscription and no BackPR fees. Card payments run on Stripe at Stripe's standard rates, which the camp can absorb or pass on as a clearly labeled fee. BackPR adds no fee of its own.
