What this is

A box you type into that returns a first draft: a newsletter, a page of copy for a programme, an outline for a lesson, a translation to start from. It calls a commercial AI model on your behalf and saves the result next to the page or course you are working on.

It saves someone at your school the blank page. It does not save them the reading.

How it works

  • Pick what you are drafting and give it the details - audience, tone, the facts it must include.
  • You get a draft in the editor.
  • You edit it. Nothing publishes on its own; a person at your school presses publish.
  • Drafts are kept so you can see what was generated and what was changed.

What to watch for

  • AI models state wrong things confidently, including dates, fees and names. Every draft needs a person who knows the truth, and knows your families, to read it before it goes out.
  • Text you type goes to a third-party model provider’s API to be processed. Keep student names, safeguarding details and anything else sensitive out of it.
  • It is a general commercial model with your instructions in front of it, not a specialist education model trained on your school.

Who suits this

A member of staff who writes the newsletter on top of a full job and would rather start from something than from nothing.

Questions and answers

Does it replace a writer? No. It replaces the first fifteen minutes of staring at an empty page.

Who is responsible for what gets published? Your school. The person who presses publish owns the text.

Where does your text go? To a third-party model provider’s API. Ask us which provider is in use and what is sent to it, and we will tell you.

Can it translate? It produces a draft translation. A fluent speaker still has to check it before families see it.

Can we turn it off? Yes.

Who builds it? BackPR, from Messina, Italy. Write to support@backpr.com.

Give it something real to draft

Send us a piece of writing your school does every term and we will show you what the drafting box actually returns, unedited, so you can judge it yourself. Email support@backpr.com.

  • • A raw, unedited sample draft
  • • The name of the model provider and what gets sent to it
  • • A straight view of how much editing it still needs
