### How to use it
- Do the mid-summer review early enough that staff have time to improve.
- Base ratings on things you saw, and write them down during the summer.
- Keep evaluations in each person's staff file.

**How do you evaluate camp counselors?**
Watch them through the summer and rate a few areas: safety and supervision, how they treat campers, reliability and teamwork, and communication. Go over the ratings with them halfway through and again at the end.

**Why do a mid-summer evaluation?**
It gives counselors specific feedback while there's still time to improve, and makes the end-of-summer rehire decision fairer.
