### How to use it
- Put the most active blocks in the cooler morning hours, and move quiet activities to the hottest part of the day.
- Leave time for transitions. Every move from one place to another needs a headcount.
- Have a rainy day plan for every outdoor block.
- Post each group's schedule where staff and families can see it, and include it with your welcome letter.

**What does a typical day camp schedule look like?**
Most day camps open with drop-off and a morning circle, run two activity blocks before lunch, add quiet time after lunch, then more activities or swim before a closing circle and pickup. Snack breaks come every two hours or so, and water should be available all day.

**How long should camp activity blocks be?**
About 45 to 60 minutes works for most school-age groups, and 20 to 30 minutes for younger children. Leave 5 to 10 minutes between blocks for bathroom breaks, water and headcounts.
