# BackPR for Youth Sports Leagues

Source: https://backpr.com/partners/youth-sports-leagues. Last updated: 2026-10-21.

Youth sports leagues register a lot of families in a short window, often with volunteers at the keyboard. BackPR gives registered nonprofit clubs and leagues a free way to take registration and card payments.

### An association, league or club network
Youth sports organizations come in several shapes. A state association may support local clubs. A league may run its own age groups and teams. A club may be a single volunteer board.

The members are a mix too. Some clubs are registered nonprofits. Some are for-profit academies. Some programs sit inside a public parks and recreation department.

Registration usually happens before a season, often in a short window. Families need to know the cost, complete forms and pay. Volunteers need to find the roster and the money afterward.

- A short sign-up window with a lot of families.
- Card payments and a clear record for the treasurer.
- Waivers and emergency information collected at registration.
- Volunteer boards that change every season.
- Families who prefer to register in Spanish.
- Clubs that cannot absorb another subscription.

Not every club will qualify for the free option. BackPR confirms nonprofit status at sign-up. For-profit clubs and public agencies can request a quote.

### A sign-up window that does not depend on one volunteer
- **Registration that keeps up:** Families often register in a short window. The system has to work on a phone and stay out of the way.
- **Clear costs before checkout:** League fees, card processing and any convenience fee should be clear before a family pays. A surprise at checkout creates calls to the registrar.
- **Forms in the same place as payment:** Clubs collect waivers and emergency information as part of registration. Keeping forms with the registration saves chasing families twice.
- **A handoff for next season:** The person who set up last season's registration may not be back. A new registrar needs to find the roster, the payments and the family contact list.

### Registration and card payments for clubs
BackPR handles online registration, payments, forms, check-in and parent messaging for youth and community programs. Families register; club staff see the roster and the payments.

For registered nonprofit clubs and leagues, BackPR is free. There is no subscription and no BackPR fee. The only processing cost is Stripe's standard rate, which the club can absorb or pass on.

- **Free for nonprofit clubs:** No subscription and no BackPR fees. The free option is how BackPR works for registered nonprofits, not a trial.
- **A quote for other clubs:** A for-profit club or a public agency can request a quote. BackPR confirms status at sign-up.
- **Free setup and import:** BackPR sets up the account and brings over families and programs from a current system or spreadsheets. The club reviews everything before families see it.
- **No app to download:** Families use BackPR in a browser on a phone, tablet or computer. They can add it to the home screen if they want.

BackPR is available in the United States only.

### A free option to share with member clubs
There is no fee to the association or league to share BackPR, and no BackPR fees for a registered nonprofit club that chooses it. Standard Stripe processing fees apply.

You do not need to run registration for every club. Point them to the free option page and let each board decide.

When a club is ready, BackPR sets up the account and imports the data. The club reviews the programs, families and forms before families see them.

- A free option to share with the programs you support.
- No fee to your organization to share it.
- No BackPR fees for a registered nonprofit that chooses it. Standard Stripe processing fees apply.
- A short demo for your staff or volunteers, focused on the screens programs would use.
- Free setup and data import for each program that signs up.
- Free templates programs can use, whether or not they use BackPR.
- A state rules library programs can read and share.
- A clear answer on eligibility at sign-up.

BackPR has no partnership with any youth sports league. This page describes an offer to share, not an existing partnership. A sponsorship, conference booth or paid membership is not part of this offer.

### Three steps, nothing to sign
- **Tell us about your clubs:** Which clubs are registered nonprofits? Which are for-profit or public? We'll confirm what fits.
- **Ask for a short demo:** We'll walk through the registration and payment screens a club registrar would use.
- **Share the free option:** Send clubs to backpr.com/nonprofits. Registered nonprofits can sign up free. Other clubs can request a quote.

There is nothing to buy and no contract to sign to share the link.

**Are all clubs in our league eligible?**
No. BackPR is free for registered nonprofits. For-profit clubs and public agencies can request a quote.

**Does BackPR handle schedules, scores or team assignments?**
This page covers registration and payments. If your league needs scheduling or scorekeeping, ask us before you assume BackPR replaces those tools. We will tell you what BackPR does and what it does not do.

**Can families register on a phone?**
Yes. BackPR runs in a browser on a phone, tablet or computer. There is no app to download.

**Is there a per-player fee from BackPR?**
No. Registered nonprofits pay no subscription and no BackPR fees. Card payments run on Stripe at Stripe's standard rates, which the club can absorb or pass on.

**Can we pass card fees on to families?**
Yes. A club can absorb Stripe's processing cost or pass it on as a clearly labeled convenience fee. BackPR adds no fee of its own.

**Do you offer league discounts or sponsorships?**
No. BackPR is already free for registered nonprofits, so there is no member discount to add. This page does not offer sponsorships, co-branding or paid memberships.

**What if a club is already using another system?**
BackPR sets up the account and imports data at no cost. The club can review everything before families see it. There is no long-term contract, and data can be exported at any time for free.
