# BackPR for Statewide Afterschool Networks

Source: https://backpr.com/partners/afterschool-networks. Last updated: 2026-10-21.

Statewide afterschool networks connect programs that rarely look alike. BackPR gives the registered nonprofits among them a free way to take registration and card payments, with setup and data import included.

### A network, not a single program
A statewide afterschool network supports the programs that run before and after school. It may convene providers, publish training and tools, advocate for funding and connect programs to schools and community partners.

The members are a mix. Some are school-based sites. Some are community centers, faith-based programs or small neighborhood providers. Some are registered nonprofits, some are public agencies and some are for-profit businesses.

The network may be a nonprofit, a project of a larger organization or a public-private initiative. Its job is to help members do their work, not to run every program.

- Programs that need registration for a school year, a term or a single event.
- Families who pay by card and need a clear record of what they paid.
- Staff who collect forms, pickup information and health details.
- Families who prefer to register in Spanish.
- Small teams that cannot absorb another subscription.
- Directors who need help moving data from spreadsheets or another system.

Not every member will qualify for the free option. BackPR confirms nonprofit status at sign-up, and public agencies or for-profit providers can request a quote.

### Registration that fits the program, not the other way around
- **A schedule that matches the program:** A drop-in site, a five-day-a-week program and a one-week camp do not sell the same way. Staff need to set up what they actually offer.
- **A clear cost for families:** Card processing is part of taking payments online. A program can absorb Stripe's standard rates or pass them on as a clearly labeled fee. BackPR adds no fee of its own.
- **Setup help for a thin admin team:** Many after-school sites run on a small administrative team. A free setup and data import removes the part that usually stalls a switch.
- **Spanish for families:** Registration and parent screens are available in Spanish. Email support can answer in Spanish.

### One place for registration and payment
BackPR handles online registration, payments, forms, check-in and parent messaging for youth and community programs. Families register; staff see the roster and the payments.

For the registered nonprofits in your network, BackPR is free. There is no subscription and no BackPR fee. The only processing cost is Stripe's standard rate, which the program can absorb or pass on.

- **Free for registered nonprofits:** No subscription and no BackPR fees. The free option is how BackPR works for registered nonprofits, not a trial.
- **A quote for everyone else:** A public agency, school district or for-profit provider can request a quote. BackPR confirms status at sign-up, so the network does not have to screen members for us.
- **Resources beyond the software:** Member programs can use free printable templates and a state rules library covering licensing, ratios, background checks, medication and mandated reporting. The library is general information, not legal advice.

BackPR is available in the United States only.

### A free option you can share without a budget line
There is no fee to the network to share BackPR, and no BackPR fees for a registered nonprofit member that chooses it. Standard Stripe processing fees apply.

You do not need to run registration for your members. Point them to the free option page and let each program decide.

When a member is ready, BackPR sets up the account and imports the data. The member reviews the programs, families and forms before families see them.

- A free option to share with the programs you support.
- No fee to your organization to share it.
- No BackPR fees for a registered nonprofit that chooses it. Standard Stripe processing fees apply.
- A short demo for your staff or volunteers, focused on the screens programs would use.
- Free setup and data import for each program that signs up.
- Free templates programs can use, whether or not they use BackPR.
- A state rules library programs can read and share.
- A clear answer on eligibility at sign-up.

BackPR has no partnership with any statewide afterschool network. This page describes an offer to share, not an existing partnership.

### Three steps, nothing to sign
- **Tell us about your network:** Which parts of the state do you cover, and what kinds of member programs do you support? We'll confirm what fits.
- **Ask for a short demo:** We'll walk through the registration and payment screens your members would use. Your staff can ask questions before you share anything.
- **Share the free option:** Send members to backpr.com/nonprofits. Registered nonprofits can sign up free. Other organizations can request a quote.

There is nothing to buy and no contract to sign to share the link.

**What is BackPR?**
BackPR is online registration and payment software for US youth and community programs, including after-school programs. It is free for registered nonprofits.

**Are all network members eligible for the free option?**
No. BackPR is free for registered nonprofits. Public school districts, government agencies and for-profit providers can request a quote.

**What does the network have to pay?**
Nothing to share the option. If the network runs its own programs and is a registered nonprofit, it can use BackPR free. If it is not a nonprofit, it can request a quote.

**Can families use BackPR in Spanish?**
Yes. Registration and parent screens are available in Spanish. Email support can also answer in Spanish.

**Do you offer webinars or training for our members?**
No. We can give your staff a short demo. Member programs can use the free templates and state rules library on their own, and support is available by email.

**What if a member is already using another system?**
BackPR sets up the account and imports data at no cost. The member can review everything before families see it. There is no long-term contract, and data can be exported at any time for free.

**How should we explain the processing cost?**
Card payments run on Stripe at Stripe's standard rates. The program can absorb the cost or pass it on as a clearly labeled convenience fee. BackPR adds no fee of its own.
