Google Forms is Google's form and survey tool, part of Google Workspace and free with a Google account. It doesn't collect payments, while BackPR handles registration and payments for youth programs and is free for nonprofits.

| | BackPR | Google Forms |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Youth and community programs: camps, after-school, childcare, classes, sports, schools and churches. | Surveys, quizzes and general forms, as part of Google Workspace. |
| Cost for nonprofits | $0. No subscription and no BackPR fees. | $0. Forms is free with a Google account. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations can also get Google Workspace for Nonprofits at $0. |
| Pricing | Nonprofits: $0. Other organizations: custom quote. | No charge with a Google account. |
| Fees added to what families pay | None from BackPR. | None. Google Forms doesn't collect payments. |
| Payment fees | Stripe's standard processing rates. For nonprofits, BackPR adds nothing on top. | Not applicable. Google Forms' question types don't include a payment field, so payments must be collected another way. |
| Contract | No long-term contract. Cancel anytime with no exit fees. | None for the free version. |
| Onboarding and data import | Free, including data import. | Self-serve; no onboarding service published. Responses can be linked to Google Sheets or downloaded as a CSV file. |
| Spanish for families | Yes. | You can write a form in Spanish. Google's help center doesn't describe a built-in way to offer the same form in English and Spanish. |

Where BackPR is different:
- **Payments at registration:** Families register and pay in one checkout, with payment plans and autopay, so there's no separate payment tool to run next to the form. Google Forms has no payment question type.
- **E-signed waivers:** Parents sign waivers and forms online. Google Forms' question types don't include a signature field.
- **Family accounts:** Families save their details once and register several children in one checkout.
- **Check-in and waitlists:** Check children in and out with authorized pickup by PIN or QR code, and fill open spots from a waitlist.

What Google Forms does well: Google Forms is quick to set up, works on any device, shows response charts in real time and sends responses to Google Sheets. Forms can close on a set date or after a set number of responses.

**Can BackPR import our data from Google Forms?**
Yes, for free. Your responses are already in Google Sheets or can be downloaded as a CSV file. Send us that file, and we'll set up your families and programs in BackPR.

**Can families pay online in BackPR?**
Yes. Families pay by card at checkout, and you can offer payment plans on autopay. Payments run on Stripe at its standard rates, and BackPR adds nothing for nonprofits.
